HITESHEW -- Lester E., 71, 3426 Graham Avenue, Windber, died at 11:30 p.m. July 13, 1955, at home.
Born Feb. 23, 1884, in Crum, Somerset County, son of George and Della (Wonders) Hiteshew.
First wife, Nora Knavel, died in 1928. Survived by widow, Lottie (Horner) Livingston Hiteshew; these children:
Paul, Marshallville, Ohio; Ruth, wife of Edwin Williams, Wyoming, N. Y.; Clarence and Hormer, both of Windber,
and Roy, New Windsor, Md.; also step-daughter, Miss Mary Livingston, Windber; 10 grandchildren and
5 step-grandchildren. Also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and half-sister.
Last surviving member of family of seven. Member of Rummel Church of the Brethren.
Friends received after 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Shank Funeral Home, Windber, where service will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Rev. A. J. Replogle. Interment, Richland Cemetery.

HITESHEW -- Mrs. Lottie M., 82, 3436 Graham Ave., Windber, died Jan. 29, 1976, at Windber Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1893, in Scalp Level, daughter of Franklin and Fannie (Custer) Horner.
Preceded in death by parents; first husband, George Livingston; and second husband, Lester E. Hiteshew.
Also preceded in death by brother, Walter, and stepson, Clarence Hiteshew.
Survived by these children: Miss Mary Livingston, at home; Homer, married to former Luana Knavel, Windber;
stepdaughter, Ruth Williams, Wyoming, N. Y.; and two stepsons, Paul Hiteshew, Marshallville, Ohio, and
Roy Hiteshew, Elgin, Ill; also three grandchildren -- Scott, Lauree and Brent -- 12 stepgrandchildren and
10 stepgreat-grandchildren. Sister of Mabel Schwer, Windber, and Charles, Salix.
Member of Rummel Church of the Brethren. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday at Meek Funeral Home, Inc., Windber, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Peter Kaltenbaugh.
Interment, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society.

WINDBER. Feb. 6 -- Mrs. Nora (Knavel) Hiteshew, aged 38 years, wife of Lester Hiteshew, of Rummel, died at the
Windber Hospital at 6 o'clock this morning. She was admitted to the hospital last Sunday. Her infant son,
who was born Monday afternoon, died three hours after birth. The body of Mrs. Hiteshew was turned over to
Undertaker G. C. Meek to prepare for burial. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed.
Mrs. Hiteshew is survived by her husband and four children, Paul, Ruth, Clarence and Roy, all at home.
She also leaves her father, Jacob C. Knavel, of Rummel, who is now in Sebring, Fla., spending the winter.
One brother, Samuel W. Knavel, of Paint Township, and one sister, Mary, wife of Mahlon Penrod, of Rummel,
also survive.

RUMMEL. Feb. 7 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nora (Knavel) Hiteshew, aged 38 years, wife of Lester Hiteshew,
who died yesterday morning at the Windber Hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon on the local
Church of the Brethren. The Rev. D. P. Hoover, pastor, will conduct the services, assisted by the Rev. H. B. Helsey,
of Johnstown. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery. Undertaker G. C. Meek will have charge of the funeral.
Friends are requested to omit flowers. The pallbearers will be Orlando Lohr, Dewey Shaffer, Walter Statler,
Foster Lehman, John Statler and Raymond Hoover. Mrs. Hiteshew's father, Jacob C. Knavel, of this place,
who has been spending the winter in Florida, will arrive here tomorrow.
